New York city 9/11
Fallen But Not Forgotten
Willing Hearts Helping Hands was called to serve in NYC during the 9/11 disaster. We showed up that first week ... and stayed till Sept 11 2002, as we followed the call of God.
In that "season", we brought over 4000 volunteers on teams weekly, from around the nation to bring comfort and care to the distressed and disenfranchised. We trained, housed, guided God's chosen, as they engaged in answering The Lord's call to serve Him.
We served at Ground Zero, helping to set up and operate the Battery Park Relief center- serving the workers inside Ground Zero, and leading prayer teams to all the local community fire and police stations... daily.
We assisted city wide agencies in administering Benefits Relief Programs, and we set up out reaches in all (5) burroughs on NYC, including Rikers Island Prison, in support of Mike MacIntosh and the Festival of Life.
But most of all, we witnessed together with all, that God "never forgets His fallen and brokenhearted"... as He pours out His love through His people who answer the call to "Come".
